HAMILTON — Badin High School’s Miranda Lipps and Anne Zettler have taken top honors in the Girls Greater Cincinnati League Grey Central Division tennis voting.

Lipps, a senior, has been named Player of the Year. She’s joined on the first team by three teammates: senior Jackie Turner, junior Rebecca Gonya and sophomore Emily Myers.

Earning spots on the second team for the Rams are seniors Mallory Gantenberg and Amanda Thompson, and junior Jill Turner.

Badin girls tennis team at Oct.08.2010 Badin HS Homecoming parade. Go Rams!

It was a good 2010 season for the Badin varsity girls tennis team. Varsity finished its regular season with a record of 9-6 overall (4-4 GGCL Grey Central).

Congratulations to Miranda Lipps for capturing the No. 1 singles title (Flight F) at the GCTCA tournament this weekend.   Miranda topped opponents from Colerain and Medeira before defeating Hamilton's Courtney Gillis (6-4,6-2) in the championship match. (Journal News)

The JV team is also poised to complete a very successful regular season.   JV's current record stands at 8-3 overall with two games remaining.

The Badin varsity girls tennis team played 3 games this week.   The team lost its first game to Dayton-Alter (5-0), but rebounded nicely by posting two straight wins against McNicholas (5-0) and Roger Bacon (5-0) to finish 2-1 for the week.  

Badin's current record stands listed at 9-5 overall (4-3 GGCL Grey Central).

Varsity played 2 matches this week.   The team's first match with CJHS ended in a partial rain-out.   Its second was a 4-1 loss to Talawanda HS.   Varsity's current record stands listed at 7-4.

JV also played 2 games this week, posting victories against both CJHS and Talawanda.   JV's current record stands at 5-2.
